Nearly is a free daily basketball game. Five questions ask for a number, not a name from a list. You can make an informed estimate, learn what happened, and compare your score with friends. Near misses count.
What makes a round
Every player gets the same five questions on a given New York date. Each asks about a defined basketball statistic and provides a reasonable guessing range. After you lock a guess, we show the answer, your distance, your points, a short original story, and a source link.
The game and private friend groups are free. Advertising will support the site once approved and enabled.
How we check the facts
Editors check each answer, season, player, unit, and scoring range against a linked source before scheduling an edition. The launch questions use selected 2024-25 player season totals from BoxScore Lab, published under CC BY 4.0. Nearly calculates per-game context and writes its own clues and reveal stories. We do not use league logos, photos, or copied articles.
If you spot an error, tell us. We can correct a future edition and explain a correction. Nearly is an independent game and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NBA.
Play with people you know
After finishing, you can make a private group, share an invite link, and compare today’s and this week’s scores. Guests finish their own five before joining. The standings are available to group members, not a public leaderboard.
